WALKER ZANGER LAYS THE FOUNDATION FOR AMERICAN ART
New American Wing at the Metropolitan Museum of Art Features Walker Zanger Stone
SYLMAR, Calif., July 28, 2009 -
Walker Zanger, the world's most comprehensive stone and tile company, is proud to announce its contribution to the renovation of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. Providing the literal foundation for The Charles Engelhard Court in The American Wing of the museum, Walker Zanger was hand-selected to supply luxury stone accents and flooring.
 For years, The Charles Engelhard Court has welcomed museum patrons to The American Wing of the museum, and after two years of renovation, the court is now complete. Providing a beautiful palette for the 60 largescale sculptures, mosaics, stained glass and architectural elements, Walker Zanger stone is featured throughout the entire space. Jerusalem Ramon Yellow Marble, a highly selected and coveted stone quarried and fabricated in Israel, blankets the floor. Treads, curved benches and planters are formed with Walker Zanger Seagrass Limestone quarried from Turkey and hand-crafted by skilled stone masons in Italy.

The opening of The Charles Engelhard Court is the second phase of a five-year project to reconfigure, renovate and upgrade nearly every section of The American Wing by 2011.
