NATURALLY BEAUTIFUL, MADE FROM NATURE'S BEST
"Green" As They Are Gorgeous; Not a Trend, But An Age-Old Way Of Doing Business

SYLMAR, Calif., November 23, 2009- For many years, Walker Zanger, the world's most comprehensive stone and tile company, has used green materials and traditional, low-energy manufacturing and quarrying techniques to develop some of its everyday collections. Today, Walker Zanger offers 15 of these striking, green collections in versatile materials including recycled glass, ceramic, porcelain and bamboo. These products are now simple to identify thanks to a new three-leaf emblem notation on product materials.

"Just as we strive to develop cutting-edge designs with both classic and modern influences, Walker Zanger also continuously takes into consideration the materials and manufacturing processes associated with our collections," notes Walker Zanger executive creative director, Jared Becker. "It's good environmental stewardship and it's also good business. This is why consumers can now look for our signature three-leaf emblem designating our beautiful and environmentally-friendly options in showrooms, authorized dealers, and also on product information."

Several collections in the Walker Zanger catalog come from renewable resources; utilize reclaimed, recycled, or longlifecycle materials; and/or employ eco-friendly practices in their manufacturing process. A sampling of these collections includes the Mantra Collection, a colorful line of durable, handcrafted glass tiles boasting up to 70 percent recycled postconsumer content. Also included among this green distinction is the Zen-style Sobu Collection, made from natural bamboo, a rapidly re-growing species which is eminently sustainable and durable. Finally, the playful Kesh Collection incorporates environmentally- friendly manufacturing practices including the use of fly ash in its cement, a waste product from coal-fired electric plants, and marble powder, a byproduct of gravel production. Its pigments come from natural iron oxides and the tiles are air-dried and cured, reducing fossil-fuel consumption. Even the water used in the creation of the Kesh Collection is 100 percent recycled.

Those interested can learn more about these collections by visiting a showroom or authorized dealer in their area. To find a location, visit http://www.walkerzanger.com/showroom/index.php.
