Before diving into style or color palettes, founder Theresa Ory encourages her clients to imagine the emotional atmosphere of their finished space, and how it should feel the first time they step inside. One of Theresa’s most buzzworthy projects? A showstopping bathroom wrapped in Walker Zanger’s Calacatta Macchia Vecchia marble – a design so impactful it earned a nomination for Interior Design Magazine’s prestigious Best of Year Awards. The project perfectly captures her signature style: refined materials, architectural depth, and a powerful sense of mood.

We caught up with Theresa to hear how she incorporates Walker Zanger stone into her work, what keeps her returning to our Atlanta showroom, and which stones are currently sparking her creativity. Here’s what she shared:

Q: How would you describe the quality and variety of stones available at the showroom? How has your overall experience been working with Walker Zanger?

A: Walker Zanger’s slab showroom is a curated gallery of natural art. It’s stunning, has a gorgeous variety, and continually gets refreshed, so there’s always something beautiful to behold.

The curated product, accessibility to volume from multiple locations, and ease of communication make working with Walker Zanger an easy yes for us at Theresa Ory Interiors. 

Q: What first attracted you to Walker Zanger, and how has it become a resource for your projects? Can you share your experience with the customer service and support at the Atlanta showroom?

A: Walker Zanger is a mainstay in the design community, so word of mouth brought me in.  The quality of the product and amazing customer service are what keep me coming back. Lisa Drogos happens to be my rep in Atlanta. She’s fast, thorough, always helpful, and offers insights and ideas that allow me to run my business more smoothly. 

Q: After working with the Macchia Vecchia Calacatta slab from Walker Zanger on your award-winning bathroom project, are there any other stones in the

showroom that have inspired your upcoming designs? 

A: Walker Zanger has some gorgeous Onyx slabs that have inspired an entire bar concept in a pass-through hallway in our current Cashiers, NC project. We’ll be cladding the upper walls of the hall in backlit onyx with custom lower cabinetry nestled below and a thin brass rail bar top shelving system for all the accompaniments.
