When clients approached Ryan Gordon Jackson of Studio Jackson, an award-winning and internationally published Los Angeles-based interior design studio and furniture house, they had a bold vision in mind: a full renovation of their expansive 20,000-square-foot home. They envisioned a modern, timeless space adorned with elegant details that truly reflected their lifestyle. Eager to embrace this challenge, Ryan, principal designer at Studio Jackson, set out to transform their dream into a breathtaking reality.

Central to this transformation was Ryan’s long-standing relationship with Walker Zanger. “I have established a real relationship with Walker Zanger, eliminating the need to ever look elsewhere,” Ryan explains. Since his early career as an intern, Ryan has worked closely with Costa Mesa’s top Sales Consultant, Chuck Carstensen, who has been with the company for 30+ years, and enjoys exploring Walker Zanger’s expansive stone gallery for inspiration.

In addition to visiting showrooms, Ryan draws on architecture, art history, and the elements of space to inspire his design work. As a highly visual person, he finds inspiration everywhere—from a restaurant, city skyline, or a work of art. He describes his style as sophisticated, edited, and understated luxury, always aiming for a refined, balanced look without leaning into overt displays of wealth.

Let the tour begin!

As you arrive at the property, luxury greets you at every turn, starting with Walker Zanger’s Gascogne Beige Vein Cut Limestone tile, treated with a sandblast and brushed finish. The warm, inviting texture of the limestone harmonizes beautifully with the home’s surroundings for a welcoming entryway that sets the tone for what lies beyond.

The limestone tile transitions from the exterior to the indoor foyer, seamlessly connecting the two spaces. This exquisite flooring complements the soaring ceiling beams and the hanging chandelier, crafting an entrance that invites guests to explore further.

As you enter the living room, the limestone tile elegantly wraps the grand fireplace, adding an extra layer of luxury. With its clean lines and neutral tones, the space exudes a refined yet inviting atmosphere, providing a blank slate for a relaxing space.

Cooking up style in the kitchen, Ryan chose Walker Zanger’s Calacatta Regio Marble for the island and perimeter countertops, flowing into the backsplash and range hood finishing. Minimalist wood cabinetry complements the marble, creating an expansive space ready to entertain.

Ryan’s personal favorite space, the primary bathroom, showcases striking Arabescato Corchia marble across the floors, walls, and floor-to-ceiling in the shower. This space stands out with its exotic flair, featuring dramatic veining that adds sophistication, setting it apart from the rest of the home.

Now over to the guest bathroom, Bianco Gioia polished marble crafts a spa-like atmosphere – a perfect escape for guests to unwind.

Each of the remaining bathrooms in the home, pictured below, tell a unique story through stone. Sierra Neve marble, creates a bright and airy atmosphere, while Cipollino Rosso Ondulato marble adds a bold and playful element reflecting the client’s personality.

To conclude the tour, a polished Copacabana Granite slab is used on both the counter and backsplash in the space shown below. The sharp contrast and dynamic veining bring warmth and edge turning practicality into an unexpected focal point.

For Studio Jackson, the real reward comes from watching clients embrace their new homes and adding their personal touches. This home makeover highlights the power of collaboration and the importance of understanding client needs.
